Xavier University is home to the NCAA Xavier Musketeers college basketball team. The Xavier men's basketball team is perhaps the best known of the sports sponsored at Xavier. They play in the Atlantic Ten Conference. Their school has graduated every mens basketball player since 1985.

Xavier had an NCAA football team until the 1973 season. Without a team until 2006 there was a popular t-shirt created "Xavier Football: Undefeated since 1973. When the team was reborn they lost every game in their inaugural season but in 2007 they won their first Midwest Club Football Conference championship.
