Cornhole Regulations Regarding Bags and Game Boards

· According to the official cornhole rules and regulations the bag dimension requirements are 6” x 6” and they should be 14 ounces in weight. You need 8 bags because each team gets 4 bags.

· 2’ x 4’ is the size that the standard cornhole boards should be. You need 2 boards spaced 27 feet from each other with the fronts facing each other to play cornhole.

· Cornhole game rules and regulations state that the whole court area should be 10’ x 45’. Within this court area there should be 2 boards, the pitcher boxes and foul lines. To keep the sun from getting in your eyes set the boards north to south when they are outside.

· The box for the pitcher should be 3’ x 4’ and are on each side of the boards in a parallel fashion. Cornhole players have to stay in the pitcher’s box when pitching their bags.

· If you are going to have multiple courts they need to be spaced at least 10’ x 12’ apart to lessen distractions.

Cornhole Regulations and Game Play

· Cornhole game rules require 2 teams with 2 cornhole players each to play cornhole. These players stand on each end of the court. One team stands at each end of the court and face each other.

· One player on each of the teams has 4 bags. At the start though all 8 bags are located at one end until the coin toss.

· The teams will participate in a coin toss to determine who goes first.

· When it is determined which team goes first the pitching begins. You are required to stay within the box while making your throw for it to be legal.

· Play continues with each team alternating turns until each player has played and all bags are thrown.· The score is accessed and in the same fashion the play continues.

Cornhole Game Rules and Regulations Regarding Scoring

· The cornhole rules say that if any of the bags land anywhere besides the board those shall not be counted in the scores.

· The cornhole regulations regarding the scoring system are as follows:

1. 3 points are awarded for each cornhole bag that goes into the hole.

2. 1 point is awarded for a bag that has landed on the playing surface and or hanging on the hole without falling in.

3. 1 point is also awarded for a bag hanging off the playing surface on the edge as long as it is not coming into contact with the ground.

4. Zero points are given for any bag touching the ground even if it is also touching the playing surface.

5. Play continues until the first team reaches 21 and finishes that inning. The innings always have to be completed before a winner is declared.

6. If at the end of the inning the teams are tied at 21 the play goes on until someone wins at the end of an inning.

7. You can win by what are called skunks. If one team scores 7 points in an inning before the other team can score any the game is over. The team with 7 points wins the whole match.
