Jeffery Michael Gordon was born August 4, 1971 in Vallejo, California. He was raised in Pittsboro, Indiana and now resides in Charlotte, North Carolina. First Full Cup Year In 1993 Gordon raced his first full year in Cup for Rick Hendrick. He won the Daytona 500 qualifying race , won rookie of the year and finished 14th in the points. In 2005 Gordon started the year by winning the Daytona 500 but finished 11th in the points and failed to qualify for the Chase. In 2006 Gordon finished 6th in the points with two wins, 14 top-fives, 18 top-10s and two poles. In 2007 Gordon finished 2nd in the points passed Sale Earnhardts 6th most race wins of all time with a win at Talladega. Gordon finished 2nd in the points just 77 points behind Jimmy Johnson. In 2008 Gordon went winless with 13 top 5's and 20 top 10's and 4 poles.
